Content Credentials / C2PA

C2PA is a provenance standard that can carry signed claims about an asset, including its producer and declared editing actions. The checker reports readable claims and validation evidence when they exist.

EXIF metadata

EXIF can contain camera make and model, software, timestamps, dimensions, and GPS coordinates. EXIF is useful context, but it can be removed or changed and should not be treated as cryptographic provenance.

Important limitation

This tool is not an AI-image detector. An image can be AI-generated or AI-edited without readable C2PA metadata, and metadata alone does not establish the truth of every claim about an image.
